I am an Indian national residing in chennai. I was working in US (on a proper visa) 1.5 years ago and was involved in a bad automobile accident in which I suffered serious injuries. As a result, I had to return home (to India) to be with my family.

A law firm in Los Angeles is handling my claim/lawsuit to recover compensation for my injuries. I need to travel to Los Angeles for various aspects of the litigation at least twice over the next 1 to 1.5 years.

Also, I need a family member to accompany me to US as I am wheelchair bound and very immobile. What type of VISA should I apply ( for myself and my companion) so that I can come and go over the next 1 to 2 years? Your input will be greatly appreciated.

I wld suggest u send an email to the consulate and confirm this info - it may be possible to get a different type of visa for this case. (http://uscis.gov/graphics/services/visas.htm)

Here is my situation:

1. Received B2 approaval 4 days before it expires Sept 1st.

2. On Sept 12 , I filled for change from B2 to H4, I was under the impression that there is a grace period of 10 days.

Now uscis is asking me:

A. submit evidence of how i used my visiting time.

B. why I applied for B2 in first place (prior to B2 I had H1b)

C. financials, departure ticket, evidence of residence abroad etc.

Please advice!!

Thanks.
