I have been to chennai for 3 times in last 3 months and finally 3rd time I go through...I was thinking of closing my application after trying for 3 rd time but I got lucky this time...These are all my interviews at chennai consulate....and BIG thanks to site owners for maintaining such a clean and informative site...
First Interview...Jan 5th 2006
ME: GM, how are you today?
VO: fine, how are u?
VO: How long are you working for your present company?
ME: 2 years and 3 months
VO:How much exp you have in s/w development?
ME: 4 years
VO: Can I see your degree certs?
ME: showed them...
at this point i said to myself i am doing ok...and tried to keep a smiling face...:)
VO: so, what are you going to do for XXXX in US?
ME: I will be working in their s/w product development division. I will be working on product XXXX
at this point i have seen her taking the 221g form...I told her that i have the document describing my duties for next 12 months...asked her if she would like to see it...she took it and then said this is fine sir but what i am looking is details about the product and i need more information....I had some more documents but not on product but I didnt bother to show them since she has decided to give 221g....she asked me to put in drop box if its before jan 30 else come back for interview...
2nd Interview----16 Feb 2006
VO: Hello sir, how are you?
ME: good, how are you sir?
VO: gimme your folder...did you get all the requested documents?
ME: handed him the folder with all the documents?
VO: what are you going to do in this project?
ME: explained him my responsibilities in the project
VO: Is this product a web based product or desktop application?
ME: told him some bla bla...
VO: do you have any product brochure?
ME: No
VO: Is it possible to give a live demo of the prototype version?
ME: not sure what to say...told him that i will enquire with my employer about that...
VO:can i see your work place photos?
ME: gave him around 10-12 photographs
VO:Sir, i have no problem with your project details but I want to see the lease agreement of your employer's office space...he continued saying that he is not sure if the office is big enough...(there were couple of cases before me who got some morphed photos so I was not surprised when he said that)....I just smiled and said ok...he also asked me to get a marketing analysis which has the cost and revenue details of the said product...and also a live demo of the prototype of the product...handed me 221g
3rd Round----14 March 2006

VO: good...did you get the required documents?
ME: yes...all in the folder...
VO: can you give me work place photos?
ME: handed them over...
at this point he just quickly glanced through the photos and lease agreement and that's it...he didnt even bother about live demo and marketing analysis...
VO: sir, i am granting you visa today...if you face any problems with your employer this is how you should report it...handed me a document and asked me to go and pay the fees...
that's about it...so all 221g cases dont worry...there still is some chance...just FYI...I have been interviewed by a different person each time
