Hi Everybody,

Happy New Year 2006. May All of your wishes come true with joy & happiness

I have question, Senior members pl. advise:

My friend is planning to take a student loan(her dad is her co-signer) in India to pay for her MS in US. She is in the process of sending her application.

1.) Does she show on the finacial statement with the applications that she is paying the MS by her student-loan or does she need show other sources rof the money.

2.) Does the US Consulate officer ask for copies the financial statement that is being sent to the colleges, what kind of financial statement is acceptable by the consulate and how much money needs to be shown as cash.

Your feedback would really help us.

Thanks

1. It is ok to show that she is paying for her MS with a bank loan.

2. Atleast first year's tuition and expenses should be available as cash on the financial statement.

Thank you knowledgeseeker.

Is it possible tha if she mentions about the nbank loan and her visa gets rejected. What is the best way to show the funds, is it possible we transfer the loan money into the checking account/ show it as a CD ?
