Bank Balance

Hi,

My mom's interview is on Jan 5th at mumbai consulate. I need to know that how much minimum bank balance we need to show..so that officer will not reject the visa. We came to US in feb 2005. we had sent bank statements showing $7500 as present balance and assets worth $ 5000..
So...I wanted to know that..Is this balance sufficient for visa approval ?? :confused:
and Is the visitor visa rejections more at Mumbai consulate ??
