Hi,
I had an appointment at the mumbai consulate on 28th dec, 2005. After the initial screenings, I was first asked to get my fingerprints taken(index fingers). My interview with the visa officer went pretty well. He asked me about my university and some work related questions and it looks like he was happy with all of that. And then somethign came up on his screen, and he handed me a 221g letter on which "Your application requires additional screening" was checked and I was told that i would hear in abt 3 to 4 weeks from them.

I am wondering if this is the case of the Name Check(common names) or it is something else? One of my friend who appeared in the Canadian consuate had the similar case of Name check, but he was asked to take FingerPrints later during the day(paid 85$). I was'nt asked to take any fingerprints.

Does anyone of you have a similar case? Lets keep updated.

Thanks,
