i havent seen any example of a covering letter from the applicant (your parents) and i dont think that it's required from them. but if you still want to put one, you can just make a letter summarizing their reason for going there to the US and the ties they have back home that will make them return after their temporary visit. you can also include to say the properties they have and some of their background such as job, etc.

this is not legal advice but i hope somehow it gives you an idea.

hi friends,

thanks for all your suggestions and this website has helped me alot. My parents went to visa appointment on jan 5th and they got the visa approved. yet we didn't get passports to find out for how many years they issued visa but i want to share this immediately with you all. I will again let u know for how many years they were issued visa.

My sister is sponsered them

questions which were asked by the counsler are

1. where is my sister working?
2. where is she staying?
3. where is my brother-in-law staying?
4.How many children do my parents have?
5.How many children does my sister have?
6.How long do u want to stay there?
7.When did my sister go to USA?
8.Where did she did her MS?

thats it.

they didn't ask any questions to my mother. all these questions only my father answered.

one more thing, they are not taking no extra photos. only one photo which is pasted to Ds-156 form. My parents confirmed with them again and they said they need only one photo.

they didn't even check my papers from my parents.

papers from my sister include:
1. I-134
2. covering letter to consulate
3. 2 recent paystubs
4. bank statement
5. bank verification letter
6. employer letter
7. tax papers for last year
8. copy of her H1.
9. H1 approval notice

thats it.

anyway thanks alot once again to one and all.
