Got visa after 221g @ Chennai today

After getting 221g on 5th December, I have appeared again today at Chennai consulate and got visa.
Here is the process that happened with me.
I have appeared first time on 5th December.VO asked about my project in USA which I could not justify with documentation. He gave me 221g and asked me to get more details on the project.
I contacted my employer and got the information by fedex as VO told Fax is not accepted.

After getting the project information, today I attended again. It took total 40 minutes for me in the consulate and my interview is only for 2 minutes. VO just asked me if I have requested information or not. I gave him the papers. He has just glanced and asked me what is this tool. I explained him in 2 sentenses and he immediately gave me token back and asked me to pay the fee.
Expecting my passports soon.

I really appreciate this forum and the advises given by all. It helped me in many ways.

First of all, I understood that we should not loose faith and get disappointed when we get 221g. They are just looking for more information and if we can provide , everything will be cool.

was the project a client project...or a product.

When I appeared for the first time, i have been asked about the project I am going to work.
As the employer told me during several occassions and mentioned also in his invitation letter, I understood that it is a product development.
I told the VO same. But he is not satisfied. He asked more details. I told him that I am expert in a particular technology and going to work on the same project.
He stopped asking me questions and gave me 221 G form with the product details section rounded with pen. He explained me "Sir I need more details on your project. For you I have no questions and you need not bring your family next time. I am happy with your profile.Please get the information".
I simply told him Thanks and came back.
My employer sent me the product marketing analysis document and I went to consulate on 21st again. I was asked only one question this time "Whether I have requested info or not".
I handed over the document and the VO had a glance. He than returned the document back to me and asked me to pay fee.

I have appeared to consulate on 22nd Dec and been given 221g to get marketing analysis and internal project description.But VO has asked me to put that one document in TTSVISAS Dropbox.Do i have to put the documents only in Dropbox or can I go to consualte in person after getting my Doc's .

Which is the better option ?

Please check the back side of the 221G form.
There are few options and VO will tick one of them.

When you go with the form again to consulate, the security people are looking at the option. They will allow you inside only if you the option "Attend in person on ..date " is ticked.

In my case, I had the option 'to attend on any tuesday/wednesday/thursday" is ticked by the VO and security person allowed me in.
I guess it is always RECOMMENDED to do exactly what the officer asked to avoid disappointment at the consulate

Hi venkat,
i was very happy when i read your case..like finally i found somebody who could guide me.

i got 221 g for first time to give internal product desrciption,timeline,status and market analysis for the final product.

when i went for second time, i carried the following:
1. project shedule in xlsheet with module wise status
2. task allocation in xlsheet with my name on it
3. a 15 pages market analysis document.
4. product functional guide printout.

but i didnt carry a descriptive letter with the requested details.
VO just rejected me saying i didn have the required information. and it was not a market analysis .now i have to put doc in drop box.
i am sure my employer doesnt know the format how to present this info.

please share with me the format of the documentation you carried. like is it a letter describing all required information or how is it like?
please share the format, it helps a lot.

Can you pls inform me about the Project Information such as Project

Description, time line, marketing analysis, team size. I need the

information regarding the above. Coz i have received the same query at

chennai on jan 4th and VO told me that will Issue Visa once you provide

the above details and all together, send it through VFS Dropbox. Pls i

need information in this regard. So that i can get it from my US

employer. My employer is willing to send the information to me. Pls

send your valuable answers (like what it consists of and how many pages

it could be and etc) as soon as possible.

I always welcome answers from all friends and seniors of the Discussion

form.

I am not sure how my project info will help you.
Anyway, i am giving here.
Infact, it is not a project with client ..but an inhouse development of a tool.
The document I got from my employer by FED-EX is the marketing analysis report without time lines. The team size is mentioned as 4 (including DBA role which will be filled in the second half of the project).
The employer sent a letter addressing consulate which had the time lines.
The project starts Jan 16th and ends 30 September.

Sorry for late reply.. I got busy with my project.

The format of the document is a word document which descirbes:

-- why the product is developed
-- what is the market
-- who is the competetiors
-- where it will be sold
-- how many customers the company is aiming
-- skills needed for doing the project

It is a 13 page document.
Employer sent a letter addressing consulate. He mentioned in the letter to refer the document attached. Also time lines are mentioned in the letter

I've appeared the interview yesterday but to my hard luck I got the 221(g) for the second time also. After waiting for 3hrs. VO called me and it was only for 2min.

I've given the project description document and a small brief letter which provides the requested information. But VO gave me 221(g) and told me that send the required information along with the market analysis, timeline, in a format through drop box.

How should I go about it? Please suggest. Can you please tell me the required format?
Also for market analysis, if we provide a brief descrption, will it do or do we need to provide
very detailed one?

Many queries related to same stuff....Marketing analysis document.

Here are my answers:


1. I got a hard copy by fed-ex. I can not mail.
2. Market analysis document is a document about an internal development product. No customers expected prior to development but a forecast of sales will be done.
3. My marketing analysis document is a product development for oracle forms migration. It contains:

3.1 my employer background
3.2 product need .. why it is needed in market
3.3 market breadth.. how many customers may be needed
3.4 who are competetiors.. what are their names,strengths etc.
3.5 how this new product will be getting into market, what are the pros and cons
3.6 how many customers you are expecting / installations in next 2 or 3 years?
3.7 what is futre plans? will there be further development on the product?
3.8 skills needed for development, how you ramp up team
3.9 time lines of the project

I have not given in the same order.. but the content is almost same as I have mentioned in point 3.

4. It is a 13 page document

5. Forecasts are mentioned graphically

6. point 3.2 is supported with oracle web links.

Make sure the document has employer logo on it.

and finally, I really do not understand, why the VO has again asked some info for some of you.. though you have given some marketing analysis document.This may be , depends on case to case.

I guess.. (really guess...as i have not seen the document you have given to VO)
project description is different than marketing analysis..

A project description will tell only about project / product.
But when a company develops a product, that too, as in internal / in-house development activity, what is the returns? who buys it? why they buy it and how long it will be in demand? without this kind of analysis , no company will go with investment.

The consulate is EXACTLY asking the same document.
